The Jose Silva Method or Silva Mind Control Method was created by Jose Silva in the 1960s. Jose Silva believed our mind was capable of incredible things. He started training his children first with visualization techniques and then realized we could use and access our level of consciousness: alpha, beta, theta and delta for specific circumstances.

I learned about the Silva Method with Vishen Lakhiani from Mindvalley. I love Mindvalley because with the subscription you can have access to a variety of classes, audios, videos and topics I would not even think of if I wasn't there. I learn a lot. Vishen explains that the method takes time, but the more you practice, the faster you become. The method allows contact with nature, with equipment/tools, with ourselves and with others. For example, during the class, we have a technique that teaches us how to visualize the inside of any equipment to see if there is a problem, and if we could solve it. Guess what? I used it when my heater stopped working.

I know it sounds crazy, but I visualized my heater, saw the problem, fixed it and when I opened my eyes, I turned it off, and turned it back on again. It worked! Amazing as it can be and it is still working today. Now, you can question if I was the one really doing it or if the problem was solved when I turned it off and on again. The answer is, "I don't know". The only thing I know is that I saved hundred of dollars and that it worked. So, I will keep practicing it more and more.

The method takes you to Alpha state. So, you need a quiet place in which you can sit or lie down comfortably with your eyes closed. Then, you will follow the steps below for the easiest ways for this:

  • Take a few deep breaths to relax.

  • Count backward from 100 to 1, focusing on each number and visualizing it in your mind.

  • As you count, imagine descending a staircase, feeling more relaxed with each step.

  • Once you reach 1, you should be in a deeply relaxed, meditative state (the alpha state).

From that stage, there are many different ways you could go. For example, you could visualize your accomplished goal on a movie screen, celebrate it. You can also visualize the problem on a movie screen and see it being fixed, erased, solved.

  • Then, it's time to get your body back, so count from 1 - 100 and tell yourself you are waking up energetic and ready for the day.

The more you practice, the less you need to count backward or forward. Nowadays, I count from 3-1 and 1-3, that's all, but if I close my eyes, I already know when I am on alpha state, so I don't really need to count. So, trust the process and your body.

A poem to brighten your day. #whymeandwhynotme

Blossoming

Sinélia Peixoto

My thoughts blossom every day

My feelings prevent me from seeing the ordinary day.

And I keep looking,

At the world that is spinning

And I think about us

About life

And about winning.

Everything we lost while with each other!

When I look at you,

I imagine God.

When I feel you,

I feel that you were mine.

And my soul overflows

With emotion and feelings

That my heart

Is blossoming.

I blossom thinking about you.

I blossom when I am writing.

I blossom just knowing

What I feel right now is real.

You know how I flood with ideas,

You know everything I love,

You know what I believe in,

You know that I don't have a cause

But lies, I can’t deal with these.

And when everything seems hopeless,

It is in you that my life

Gets tangled up

And I love knowing that you

Aren't leaving me

And yes, I am the one who is opening the door.

I open the door to blossom more,

I open the door so that you enter without knocking,

I open the door so that the choice is made

And my choice has always been you.

Maybe your choice is not what I need,

Maybe my fear will come to torment me

But I refuse to be intimidated

And not desire your kisses

Please, set me free!

Everything I feel warms me.

Everything I think seems that will not fall asleep

It just blossoms

For you and me.
